Avidyne's FSD for Mooney on the Bravo and Ovation

A TSO-certified flight situation display from Massachusetts-based Avidyne (Booth 2523) will be available on Mooney Bravo and Ovation aircraft pursuant to a new agreement, Avidyne said here. The Avidyne FSD includes vector graphic, database-driven moving maps and GPS management system; digitized IFR and VFR charts, and lightning data from a remote-mounted BFGoodrich Stormscope WX-500 sensor. A CD-ROM allows for quick data updating, and can also be used for music disks. "Avidyne has made all the correct decisions in the evolution of their FSD," said Mooney engineering VP Thomas Bowen.
