A Larger Airborne Engines Offers Faster Turnaround Times

British Columbia-based Airborne Engines (Booth 2420) is installing a new test cell, to be operational this spring, at the Vancouver International Airport. The facility will support all Allison series 250 engines, Pratt & Whitney PT6A-20s up to and including the -41, and AlliedSignal T53-11, -13B, -17 and military equivalents. It will be the only such authorized test cell and overhaul facility for the AlliedSignal engines in Canada, Airborne Engines says. The company also advises that improved in-house capabilities for welding and painting and related competencies are speeding turnaround times, and that its PT6T3/3B engine repair and overhaul line is now in full operation.
