Raytheon, Aerolineas Ejecutivas Form Maintenance
JV
Raytheon Aircraft Services and Aerolineas Ejecutivas signed
a joint venture agreement Tuesday to operate Raytheon Aircraft
Services-Mexico, a new service center at Toluca, Mexico.
Raytheon is investing $1.5 million in tooling for the new facility,
which will operate on Aerolineas' 248,000-square-foot FBO at Toluca
International Airport, some 35 miles west of Mexico City. The
facility, which is expected to become operational by year-end,
includes an executive terminal, ramp space and maintenance and
support facilities.
The companies spent two years working out the joint venture agreement,
which will create the first business-aircraft service center in
Mexico run by a combination of an airframe maker and a dealer.
Raytheon Aircraft Services-Mexico will offer complete scheduled
and unscheduled maintenance on the legacy Beech GA line including
Bonanzas, Barons, King Airs and Beechjets. The facility will also
perform line maintenance on Hawkers. Service levels on the smaller
aircraft will run through C-check level, and will include airframe,
avionics and engine services. Hawker services will include 300
and 600-hour inspections.
The facility also will provide unscheduled maintenance support
and emergency AOG services to transient aircraft. While it won't
be worked into the network of centers servicing the Raytheon Travel
Air fractional fleet, it will provide regular service to the MexJets
fractional operation founded by Aerolineas Ejectivas president
Arturo Ortega.
