Dowty Brings Full Complement to NBAA Show
Dowty Group has brought all six members of its aerospace portfolio
to this year's NBAA show and all are making news, the company
said.
Dowty Aerospace Yakima (DAY) won a contract to supply thrust attenuator
actuators for the Cessna Citation CJ1 and CJ2 business jets that
will replace the standard thrust reverser actuators and help achieve
cost and weight savings. DAY also has been approved under ISO
14001, the international standard for environmental management
systems.
Dowty Aerospace Los Angeles earned ISO 9001 status for its quality
management systems. DALA, which manufactures hydraulics and actuation
components, recently won a contract to design and produce actuators
for the new ejector translator hushkit developed by Really Quiet
LLC for retrofit on Gulfstream II and III aircraft.
Dowty Tubular Systems makes its debut at NBAA this year, bringing
together Lewis & Saunders, a maker of rigid tubular assemblies,
and Titeflex, which makes flexible hoses. It recently won a contract
to supply all the rigid tubular systems on the Sino Swearingen
SJ30-2.
UK-based Hamble Structures completed a long-term agreement to
make a wide variety of composite and metallic empennage components
for the Raytheon Hawker. The tailcone is on exhibit at Dowty's
booth, #8446.
Dowty Aerospace Propellers is demonstrating its all-composite
blade this year, and is shining a spotlight on its dedicated propeller
MRO facility at Sterling, VA.
Dowty Turbine Engines and Components will display its Aero &
Industrial Technology engine fabrications. DTEC recently acquired
Tri-Industries' U.S. operations from GE. DTEC recently has reorganized
into European and North American groups.
