Cessna Introduces CPCalc for Excels
Cessna has introduced the Cessna Citation Performance Calculator (CPCalc) for Citation Excel operators. CPCalc is an FAA-approved electronic performance program that simplifies flight planning. It is Windows-based, and allows crews to perform detailed electronic flight planning in three to five minutes. The calculator determines takeoff speed and distance, departure climb gradients and landing speeds and distance once the pilot has entered the airport identifier, current weather and aircraft configuration. Introductory price for the CPCalc is $350, with a $250 annual subscription fee. CPCalc will be available for CJ2 operators by year-end, and for CJ1 and CitationJet operators in early 2005.
In other Cessna News, Cessna will begin equipping its single-engine aircraft with AMSAFE Aviation's Aviation Inflatable Restraint (AAIR) air bag system from 2005. The air bags will be standard equipment in the pilot and copilot seats of all new Skyhawks, Skylanes and Stationairs, and available for retrofit on existing Cessna singles through a STC.
