Canadair Regional Jet Breaks into Japanese Market -- Fair Inc Is First

Newly-established The Fair, Inc. will begin service in the middle of this year with two 50-seat CRJs from a European operator, but is to receive a pair of factory-fresh aircraft from Bombardier in 2002. Operations will be centered on Sendai, serving business-orientated routes such as Hiroshima-Hanida. Startup is being assisted by All-Nippon Airways, which is providing help with flight operations, flight crew provision, maintenance and engineering. During the past year, eight Asia/Pacific airlines have placed orders for seven CRJ twinjets and eleven Dash8Q regional turboprops.
