| New 'Air Force One' Boeing Jet Handed Over to Taiwan Taiwan's president and senior government officials will soon have a new executive transport aircraft. A Boeing 737 Series 800 was delivered a fortnight ago and is now being equipped by the manufacturer with advanced communications and security equipment prior to entering service at Sungshan Airport, Taipei. Officially known as the Executive Branch Special Use Aircraft, the $68 million twinjet was ordered in 1998 and will be operated by the Republic of China Air Force. Boeing markets civilian business jet versions of the New-Generation 737 family as the BBJ and BBJ2. |
