Latest Q400 Certified in US; Enters Service in Europe
The US Federal Aviation Agency followed its Canadian and European counterparts earlier this month in granting a type certificate to the Bombardier Q400 stretched version of the de Havilland Dash 8. The previous day, February 7, the 70-seat twinprop entered revenue-earning service with SAS Commuter in Denmark. Transport Canada has already approved the variant for 'same-type' crew ratings, allowing recurrent training to be conducted on the 37/39-seat Q100/Q200 and 56/56-seat Q300 as an alternative for those operators with a mixed fleet
