All Dressed-up and Everywhere to Go

Flying non-stop from Vienna, Austria, a Boeing Business Jet is scheduled to arrive here at 9 am Tuesday morning to take its place on the static line at Asian Aerospace 2000.

This BBJ recently completed an around-the-world flight for its owner and some business associates. Stops included Bangkok, Cairns, Sydney, Tahiti and Van Nuys, California. The aircraft then continued on non-stop to its Vienna starting point.

To date, the aircraft has logged over 250,000 miles since delivery last October. Neither Boeing nor its flight crew will divulge the name of the aircraft's owner.

Inside the BBJ is more like "an elegant home" than an aircraft, according to its pilot, William Chistophe. There is tremendous room to move around, he said.

The BBJ mates the fuselage of the 737-700 with the wing and landing gear of the larger 737-800. Maximum range capability is about 6,200 nmi. According to Boeing, the BBJ has more than three times the room of some other ultra-long-range business jets.
