Bombardier Receives Learjet 45 RVSM

Reduced Vertical Separation Minima clearance has been awarded to the Learjet 45, it was disclosed at the show.

Having been the first to gain such clearance for any business jet with the Challenger 604, Bombardier now claims to be first in the super-light category.

Making better use of airspace, RVSM relies on more accurate navigation to enable vertical separation between aircraft to be reduced from 2,000 to 1,000 feet. It was introduced over the North Atlantic in March 1997 and will be extended to Europe in January 2002.

The Learjet 45 entered service in 1998. At present, 67 are in service and have demonstrated 99.37% dispatch reliability over more than 24,000 flying hours.
