Airshow and AirCell Forge Strategic Alliance
Airborne customers will reap the benefits of a strategic
alliance announced at New Orleans and involving two providers
of in-flight services. Airshow, Inc, supplier of information and
entertainment systems has made an undisclosed investment in AirCell,
Inc, a leader in wireless communications.
This move enables Airshow to offer a single, bundled solution
to its customers, involving hardware, connectivity and content.
"The result," said Airshow president Dennis Ferguson
"will be a powerful, technologically advanced air-to-ground
communications system that is affordable for virtually every U.S.
domestic GA and commercial aircraft flying today."
Customers of the new venture will be able to access the AirshowM@il
e-mail system that had its successful first airborne test last
June and will come on line in the first quarter of next year.
Nearly 4,000 corporate aircraft already have Airshow systems in
service.
