A Better BFG Skywatch

BFGoodrich, recognizing that many business aircraft operators need a traffic advisory system with more than six miles of range, is launching Skywatch HP, a $24,600 traffic detection and display system capable of tracking up to 35 intruder aircraft and displaying their positions up to 15 miles away.

The higher performance model of Skywatch also can process closure rates as high as 600 KTAS, thereby making the system suitable for the fastest business jets.

Skywatch HP also will be compatible with Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast when the technology becomes available. The system has an ARINC 429 interface, enabling it to be linked to compatible EFIS and MFD displays. It also can share a 3-ATI display with a BFGoodrich WX-1000 StormScope-brand lightning detection device.
