Camp Systems -- 'Leveraging Data'
Long Island's Camp Systems (Booth 6353) is talking up a new Internet
portal that will allow comprehensive flight department management
at one place, with no need for distributed software.
Camp's AvDesk.com, slated to go online in January, will allow
Camp service subscribers to see all their maintenance data in
one place, with features for inventory control and for linking
scheduled trips to actual aircraft use. AvDesk.com will also serve
as the single, free-access Internet shell for the company's subscriber-supported
AviationBid.com and AviationSell.com services.
AviationBid.com, launched in July, ties maintenance needs to maintenance
providers, with Camp collecting a commission of 2.5% per job executed
pursuant to bids placed via the website.
AviationSell.com goes on line this Tuesday of NBAA 2000. It allows
aircraft sellers solicit bids online, with automatic e-mails to
more than 1,000 operators when a new aircraft becomes available.
Camp collects a 1% commission on final sales.
The company is seeking to bring its 30-plus years of maintenance
documentation support into the Internet age. The company's goal,
CEO Todd Hamilton said here Monday, is to "leverage off the
vast data and experience we have in-house."
