Peace and Quiet for Palestine Airlines as It Takes a Pair of Q300 Twins

Palestine Airlines of Gaza has taken delivery of the first of two 50-seat Bombardier Q300 transports, and plans to put it in service later this month. The second of the twin-turboprop-powered Q300s will enter service a few weeks later. Palestine Airlines also has firm orders for two 50-seat Bombardier CRJ200 regional jets. They are scheduled for delivery in November of this year and September 2001. The arrival of the Q300s marks the start of Palestine's fleet modernization program, according to Steven A. Ridolfi, president of Bombardier Aerospace, Regional Aircraft. The airline flies from Gaza to Amman, Cairo, Jeddah, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Istanbul, among other cities. It plans to begin services to Rome and Athens with the CRJs. The 300Q upgrade of the Bombardier Dash 8-300 includes a redesigned interior with a noise and vibration suppression system that reduces cabin noise levels about 2dB.
