VLJ TRAINING GUIDELINES AND A PROACTIVE APPROACH TO SAFETY ANALYSIS

This session will review the National Business Aircraft Associations (NBAA) guidelines for pilot training which have been used as the common baseline for the training programs developed and implemented by aircraft manufacturers in partnership with their training providers. These programs have trained several hundred pilots to date. The session will also review the safety data collected cooperatively between industry and the FAA to proactively monitor the entry-into- service of this new product segment of general aviation. Finally, the session will address safety culture from an operator’s perspective and touch on the IS-BAO certification process.
